When you own a home, you probably have had some experience in gardening or landscaping the outside areas around your house. You take the time to dig up the ground and plant shrubs, trees, and flowers, making sure that they all coordinate and match. Then there is that one more detail to address what kind of mulch should you use around the yard to help protect your plants.
As you are deciding on the type of mulch to use you have the choice of laying down plain mulch or mulch that has been colored. Custom Milling & Consulting, Inc., located in Fleetwood, PA manufactures two lines of colorants that can adhere to different fibers such as wood, palm, or greenwaste. Not all mulch dyes are the same some are made in powder form or in a liquid form. CMC produces a liquid dye that is made up of pigments, environmentally safe chemicals and water, which is all mixed with special equipment.
CMC’s product is superior to the competition because they use media milling technology to make these dyes. The media milling allows for smaller finer particles of pigment that are dispersed throughout all the liquid. As particles get smaller they will coat the fibers that are being colored more evenly than many of the other products that are available. Mulch manufacturers tend to use less CMC mulch dyes because they are concentrated and which they are mixed with more water they do not lose their vibrancy.
CMC manufactures the following colors:
- Bursting Red
- Crimson Red
- Jet Black
- Xtra Black
- Dark Brown
- Cherry Brown
Environmentally conscious people do not need to worry because tests have proven that mulch dyes are less harmful than table salt on the environment. They breakdown with the wood and will not cause any harm to your existing plants or your animals.
